Rachel Richman is the Project Manager/Consultant for the Health Impact Table. Before joining Youth Ventures JPA, Rachel served as the Policy and Political Director of Professional and Technical Engineers, Local 21. Among her responsibilities, Rachel built the union’s legislative and policy program, engaging hundreds of members to pass revenue and bond measures and fighting to save the Affordable Care Act. Previously, Rachel coordinated a statewide California coalition of community, health, labor, and professional organizations, advocating for legislation to ensure access to affordable, quality healthcare.
Rachel served as Chief of Staff to Supervisor and later Assemblywoman Wilma Chan, and Supervisor (now Senator) Jim Beall and was a Senior Legislative Assistant to then- Assemblyman Tom Bates.
Rachel is a member of the Alameda County Measure A Citizen Oversight Committee and is a Senior Fellow with Working Partnerships USA in their Advanced Public Budget Program. Previously she served as Field Faculty for the CORO Center for Civic Leadership.
She has been an Oakland resident for 17 years.
