Jacqueline Calderon Perl is the Project Manager & Consultant for the Education Impact Table. Prior to her work at the Youth Ventures Joint Powers Authority (JPA), Jacqueline worked for the Oakland Unified School District, first as a bilingual elementary teacher, later as a Teacher on Special Assignment focused on Literacy and targeted supports for English Learners, and most recently, as the Principal of the East Oakland school where she began her teaching career. Jacqueline’s personal and professional encounters with poverty and the immigrant experience fuel her passion and commitment to improving the life outcomes of marginalized and disenfranchised working poor families. She is grateful for the opportunity that the JPA affords her to work across public agencies and sectors in service of youth and families in the City of Oakland.
Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Global & International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a K-12 Management and Administrative Credential. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.
